About Me

Obviously I love to bake, or we wouldn't be here. I started baking when I moved out of my parents' house, but it was more like cupcakes, cakes, cookies, banana bread, beer bread. You know, the easy stuff. My cakes aren't well decorated, I have no decorating skills, but they do taste good! 

It wasn't until a few years ago I really started to dive into baking. 

I was at the store and saw some moon pies. I had never had moon pies before. I bought some, went home and tried them. I was NOT a fan. I didn't like how soft they were. I thought what a disappointment. I really wanted them to taste good. I decided I wanted to try to make them. I YouTube'd videos on how to make them, I read difference recipes and found one I thought I would like. Tested it out, and sure enough, the moon pies were DELICIOUS home made. I sent some over to my neighbor and they loved them too! 

I then started to look for things that were unique to bake. I wanted to find things that were storebought snacks that I could make from scratch. I did pop tarts, pies, pasta, soft pretzels, cinnamon rolls to name a few. P.S Homemade pop tarts are where it's at.

My neighbors absolutely love me. And if I were them, I would love me too. haha! 

I have 4 kids. I have a 20-year-old, 16-year-old, and twin 5-year-olds. Oldest 2 are boys, youngest 2 are girls. Having 2 older children really helped when we first had the twins. Trying to navigate a new life with twins is hard. And you really do need all the help you can get. As they go older, they started to help me bake things. We've taught them the importance of washing their hands, and not coughing and sneezing on the food. They do a pretty good job. I still have to remind them sometimes. 

We have 2 dogs and a bearded dragon. The dogs are a pit/golden retriever mix and a German shepherd/cattle dog mix. They are always in the kitchen when I'm in there looking for scraps!
